Eco-friendly rural infrastructure
Sustainable economic growth that improves rural livelihoods
Organic food production and preservation of our natural resources and heritage
In 2018, William and his family decided to develop their rural home in Zimbabwe’s Goromonzi district, some 69km east of the capital Harare. The initial aim was to establish a tranquil homestead for him and his family as they prepare to transition from the city to the countryside where they would create a self-reliant future, take charge of their own food production systems while enjoying the natural beauty, fresh, clean air and slower pace promise of the countryside.
The vision of The Country Boy is anchored on three pillars:
The focus is on promoting sustainable development of rural infrastructure that is eco-friendly. As a means of driving sustainable rural industrialization, The Country Boy, in partnership with key government ministries and departments, and other development partners established the Rural Real Estate model that facilitates investments in key rural infrastructure projects.
The aim is to develop a viable commercial rural economy underpinned by value addition and fair trade of products in order to maximize on returns, create sustainable economic growth and improve livelihoods.
The drive is to encourage individuals and communities to lead healthy lifestyles through the promotion of natural food production systems, encourage responsible lifestyle behaviours and adherence to our cultural values and norms, which are the fountain of our collective heritage
